From Prairie Town to Growing Suburb
Raymore was platted in 1874 and incorporated in 1877. Farming shaped the early community in northwestern Cass County. Its later growth changed the town, but local collections preserve records and artifacts from the earlier settlement. Sources: city history publication and Raymore Historical Society.
The historical society operates a museum, library and archives. Choose it for local people and everyday life rather than expecting a large regional museum. Confirm public opening arrangements before visiting. Source: historical society collections.
Choose a Park by Activity
T.B. Hanna Station
This three-acre park sits in Raymore's Original Town area at 214 South Washington Street. Its train-themed play space recalls the railroad tracks that once ran through town. The inclusive playground and sprayground provide options for children with different access and communication needs. Source: city Hanna Station guide.
The sprayground's season runs from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. The Depot pavilion becomes an ice rink in winter. Check the rink's season, weather status and fees before planning a skating trip. Summer water play and winter skating are separate activities at the same site. Source: Hanna Station seasons.
Hawk Ridge Park
Choose Hawk Ridge for a lakeside outing or an amphitheater concert. The city's Arts Commission presents free concerts during its outdoor concert season. Performers and program details change, so choose a date from the current schedule. Source: city concert series.
Hanna Station's inclusive play spaces were designed with Unlimited Play and supported by Variety KC. The park also has ADA restrooms open across the seasons. Its covered Depot can be reserved for an event, but its winter conversion into a rink changes how that space is used. City design and facility information.
For a gathering, choose the date and season before booking the Depot. For everyday play, choose Hanna Station's equipment; for a lakeside walk or performance, choose Hawk Ridge.
Events Across the Year
The city's seasonal calendar includes the Raymore Easter Festival in spring. Summer and early fall bring the free Arts Commission concert series. During the holidays, the annual Christmas Tree Trail and Mayor's Tree Lighting bring the community to T.B. Hanna Station. Sources: city spring program, concert series and holiday park tradition.
Use the city calendar to confirm each program before arranging travel or a group outing.
